This year marks a significant milestone for Girls on the Run of the Triangle (GOTR) — 25 years of empowering young girls to reach their full potential. As we reflect on this monumental achievement, it is clear that Girls on the Run is more than just a running program. This movement has inspired and nurtured countless girls to dream big, face challenges head-on, and understand their worth in a world that too often asks them to shrink.

Over the past 25 years, Girls on the Run has achieved more than impressive numbers—it has made a tangible difference in the lives of its participants. With over 25,045 girls served, the program’s impact is felt across generations.

As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, it is a time to recognize the numbers and the countless stories of transformation, perseverance, and triumph. Whether it is a girl who overcame her fear of running, a team that achieved their 5K goals, or a coach who witnessed a girl discover her potential, the impact of Girls on the Run is immeasurable. Each girl participating in this program becomes part of a larger movement of young women who will change the world.

Looking Ahead: The Next 25 Years

As we celebrate 25 years of empowering young girls, Girls on the Run of the Triangle is more committed than ever to expanding its reach and continuing to inspire generations of young women. With a renewed focus on inclusivity and accessibility, the organization aims to ensure that every girl, regardless of background, has access to the program's transformative power.

Looking forward, Girls on the Run will continue expanding its reach to underserved communities, providing scholarships and resources to ensure all girls can experience the program. With the foundation set over the last 25 years, the future is incredibly bright for Girls on the Run and the girls who will continue to lead the way.

A Thank You to All Who Have Been Part of the Journey

We want to express our deepest gratitude to the countless girls, volunteers, coaches, and supporters who have been part of this incredible journey. Without each and every one of you, Girls on the Run of the Triangle's success would not be possible. Here is to 25 more years of empowering girls to be bold, strong, and confident — and to create a world where every girl can realize her full potential. Thank you for being a part of the Girls on the Run legacy. The best is yet to come!
